Smart Islands: Preventing Wildfires and Monitoring the Environment

In wildfire-prone areas, early detection and rapid action can save ecosystems and communities. Our Smart Islands use case demonstrates how LoRaWAN-connected sensors combined with pedestrian tracking and FIWARE-based analytics allow for real-time environmental monitoring. These solutions enable local authorities to act fast and reduce environmental risk.

A real-world example of this is our ongoing pilot project with the Cabildo de Tenerife, following the devastating 2023 wildfires. We’ve deployed LoRaWAN gateways and high-precision environmental sensors across affected zones to monitor soil and air quality in real time.

The system provides a robust, long-range connectivity layer that covers over 35 km from the forest surveillance tower, helping build a smarter, more resilient monitoring network.

SecLive™: Enhancing Worker Safety with Edge AI

Workplace safety is non-negotiable. Our SecLive™ solution leverages computer vision and edge computing to monitor compliance in real time—from PPE detection to zone access and incident response.

Deployed on local IoT nodes, this system minimizes latency and maximizes impact by delivering preventive alerts directly to workers. Built on NGSI-LD and fully integrated with the FIWARE continuum, SecLive™ ensures seamless interoperability and scalable safety intelligence.

Whether it’s monitoring welding mask usage or detecting unauthorized access to hazardous zones, SecLive™ brings safety into the era of Industry 4.0.

Smart Music Spaces: Data-Driven Event Optimization

How can data make a concert better? Our Smart Music Spaces use case proves it can. By analyzing attendance patterns, optimizing space usage, and enhancing acoustics in real time, we help venues improve both revenue and audience experience.

One remarkable application of this is Project MUSA, developed in collaboration with RocknRolla Producciones.

MUSA is an advanced IoT platform that connects camera systems, crowd sensors, energy meters, and ticketing platforms to provide actionable insights. The system allows real-time recommendations for attendee comfort, tracks resource usage, integrates with billing and ERP tools, and helps optimize every event’s layout, cost, and sustainability footprint.
