The concept

For 2 years, Secmotic has collaborated on this project alongside companies Emergya, EC2CE, and Ferrovial, creating a tool that will facilitate work in ports.

In the development of this tool, innovative technologies such as Big Data, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, 3D GIS, Blockchain, Open Data, and Cloud have been employed.

What is Digital Port for?

Digital Port envisions the ports of the future as connected, intelligent, safe, green, and integrated into the city. It addresses the design and development of an innovative modular platform to provide optimization solutions for interfaces between sea, port, and city, adding value to improve efficiency and optimize logistical processes among the stakeholders involved in the port environment.

The developments are intended to be validated in pilots in real environments, with the involvement of various actors in the port-logistics chain (port authorities, shipping companies, logistics operators, exporters, insurers, etc.).

How does it work?

As mentioned earlier, we have utilized Big Data, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, 3D GIS, Blockchain, Open Data, and Cloud.

These technologies allow us, among other things, to synchronize the arrival of ships at the port, estimate import and export volumes by type of goods, reduce the impact of empty containers, provide knowledge about the position and status of the goods throughout the journey, and optimize the management of the entry and exit of vehicles from the port.

What are its objectives?

• Consolidate the company at the forefront of the IoT sector by designing new protocols that increase data transmission security between devices and developing a framework based on FIWARE technology for generating virtual sensors.
• Establish strategic alliances with companies in the sector for the development of comprehensive solutions in the field of Smart Infrastructures.
• Enhance our technological base with new Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analytics techniques.
• Open a new business line in one of the fastest-growing sectors in the field of Smart Infrastructures, Smart Ports.

We have developed a tailor-made solution for the Digital Port project, and since its implementation, improvements have been observed in:
