The concept
The ANEOSP project involves the integration of video sensors and edge computing capabilities into portable, autonomous IoT nodes. These nodes are easily deployable for both indoor and outdoor use and will act as “Infrastructure Elements (IE)” of aerOS. The system is capable of real-time video analysis, which allows for immediate detection and notification of potential safety risks.
Benefits of this project
1. Enhanced worker safety
The primary benefit of the ANEOSP project is the significant improvement in worker safety. By detecting risks in real-time, the system helps prevent accidents and ensures a safer working environment for port employees.
2. Increased Operational Efficiency
The ability to detect risks as they occur enhances the overall efficiency and productivity of port operations. This proactive approach reduces downtime caused by accidents and other safety incidents.
3. Cost-effective and Easy Deployment
The IoT nodes are designed to be cost-effective with minimal maintenance requirements. Their portability and autonomy make them easy to deploy, ensuring quick implementation and immediate benefits.
4. Promotion of Safety Culture
The project contributes to fostering a culture of safety and compliance within port facilities, encouraging adherence to safety protocols and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Computer Vision Capabilities
The ANEOSP project incorporates advanced computer vision models to enhance its risk detection capabilities:
Proximity Detection Model:
This model identifies the proximity between workers and machinery, alerting operators to potentially dangerous interactions.
PPE Detection Model:
It detects risky behavior stemming from the inadequate use of Personal Protective Equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
STS Crane Detection Model:
This model monitors the vertical position of Straddle Carriers to detect any deviations or potential risks.
Container Detection Model:
It identifies unstable or misplaced containers, preventing accidents and ensuring the stability of cargo.
The comprehensive application of these models enables the ANEOSP system to provide a robust safety monitoring solution, significantly reducing the risk of accidents in port operations.
