Secmotic has partnered with DTN, one of the most exciting projects in the field.

DTN is an ICT consulting company that works on airport monitoring using desktop software. After analysis, they concluded that they should upgrade to a more accessible web solution that replicates the capabilities of their current desktop software.

What does DTN do?

The purpose of the project is to build a web application from scratch that is an updated replica of DTN’s current MetConsole desktop software for airport monitoring.

The web platform should allow creating custom dashboards for different types of users, displaying real-time data, managing users, roles, and user groups, publishing notes, managing airport phraseology, and handling a large number of interactive widgets for each dashboard.

How does it work?

Secmotic has developed a web application using the ReactJS framework and a backend based on microservices that manages all information related to users, dashboards, menus, notes, phraseologies, and communication with other proprietary DTN services. This entire infrastructure is deployed in an orchestrated manner and using Docker containers to facilitate its startup.

Users use the web application to access all the services described above very clearly and intuitively, thus managing airport operations.

What problems does this solution solve?

We developed a tailor-made solution for the DTN company, and since they started using it, they have improved the following benefits:

• The application is accessible from any device through a web browser (computer, mobile, tablet…) while before they were limited to the installed computer.
• The application can be deployed on any operating system, while before they were limited to Windows.
• Teams can stay updated as there are no dependencies between the web application and the operating system.
• The application can be used by multiple users simultaneously.

Users are accustomed to using similar applications daily on their mobile devices, so the learning curve is very small.
